Corporate Yoga

Well-being at work.

Regular Yoga and meditation classes in the workplace have been proven to release stress and tension from the nervous system. This in turn enhances the ability to cope with everyday pressures and, as a result, increase productivity in the workplace. A short break to practise Yoga and meditation, when it fits in with your busy organisational schedule, would give employees an opportunity to function with increased clarity of mind and a sharper focus in undertaking daily tasks. As a longer-term intervention this reduces sick leave and the impact of psychosocial factors.
Yoga and meditation achieve the above by providing deep relaxation to the body and mind through breathing techniques and physical postures. The type of Yoga Natalie teaches is a modern practise which combines ancient aspects of yoga and current niche knowledge of anatomy to create a therapeutic practice which counteracts the negative effects of the workplace. The class is available to all levels, including complete beginners. Employees can expect to leave the class feeling relaxed and invigorated ready to take on daily tasks.

Natalie has been teaching Yoga for the NHS staff at Hexham General Hospital since January 2018. Staff have since said that their Yoga practise has become an integral part of their working lives and helps them to stay centred and calm during times of high stress. This has been particularly relevant during the Covid-19 pandemic, where NHS staff faced tremendous pressure. Many staff have said that practising with Natalie at this time has been a lifeline.
A normal class in the workplace would take 60 minutes however, if you have less time available, a 30-45-minute class would also be effective. I provide Yoga mats and equipment; all you would need is floor space, but this can be done around desks and other obstructions. The class can take place at any point during the working day, e.g. before work, during work, lunch breaks or after work.
Providing this service to your employees shows a corporate ethos of staff care and welfare, particularly in the current ‘climate’ where mental health is more prioritised, and mindfulness known to be of substantial benefit. Should you wish to provide your employees with this exciting opportunity please contact me to discuss this in practical terms.

Natalie is a wonderful yoga teacher - gently encouraging and always seems to ‘get’ the needs of the class. I wasn’t sure this would be for me but I can really feel the benefit both physically and mentally and am now a total covert! I’d encourage anyone to try Natalie’s classes - she’s such a sunny person you can’t help but feel better!
